I am delighted to welcome Samantha Lucas to AYSB on Sunday March 31st at 1.00pm.Samantha, an Ashtangini and amputee, will tell her story of survival after losing her leg in a traumatic motor vehicle accident. The Ashtanga practice carried her through the ordeal and saved her life.
Ashtanga Yoga South Bay will be closed on Christmas Day, but will otherwise remain open throughout the holidays. That said, please note that we are observing the full moon this Sunday, December 23rd.
It is important for practitioners of Ashtanga Yoga to have an understanding of the philosophical principles that underpin the practice. For this yoga to work, one needs to be applying and practicing the yamas and niyamas in one’s daily life, for a start.
This stepping onto our mat every day to practice is a serious endeavor. We should not take it lightly. The task is an important one: to transform ourselves. Yoga is a path towards self-realization.
